Mein liebes, gutes Kind!

Deinen lieben Brief habe ich erhalten und danke Dir recht herzlich für beide Briefe. You are ever such a clever girl to help me as much as you can. The letter is indeed very nicely written, I like it very much and I have written to Burleigh yesterday. I would have used many hours to write myself and it would be not so good. Ena will be astonished at “my” good English.

I miss you very much here, but I know that we shall see each other next Sunday. My mother would be very glad if you would stay up to Monday. I hope you will do so. I shall endeavour not to have much to do on Monday so that we can be together nearly the whole day. Two days are much better than only one, I think and I am quite happy. Please be so kind as to write me the exact time of your arrival in Bochum, I shall be at the station, cela va sans dire. In half an hour, Hugo will be here and I shall get to know him. My sister is very happy with him and mother likes him too as well as my brother. I shall tell you about that marvelous [sic] thing if we are together in Bochum.

I am a member of the N.S.D.A.P. and I am glad, that you also will become a member. I spoke to Hans Bräuner about the thing which you know but I saw that it is of no use for me to accept, because I have no time to lose.

And now, my dear sweetheart, many kind regards to you and your dear parents.

With love and many big kisses

Yours ever Walter.

Viele herzliche Grüße von Mutter und Geschwistern.
