My dear Walter!
Many thanks for your letter and the enclosed snaps of yours which I like very much. I am sorry but I did not get my prints yet, I hope I shall be able to send them with my next letter. What about your Silentium, have you got other boys? I hope you’ll soon get quite a lot.
To-day Gerti and I were at a very interesting meeting arranged by the British Committee of the International Democratic Peace Movement. It was very interesting, there were plenty of French people, some German, Indian etc. They were all very enthusiastic and after having heard the first part – the report of the speaker – we intended to stay and listen to the discussion.
Yesterday we had a nice ride in the car along the Thames to Windsor. The country and the River were lovely. The day before yesterday we went in the car to Richmond and Bushy Park and to Hampton Court. I have seen quite a lot now and I made up my mind to stay here for another week instead of going to see my friend at Hastings. Gerti is going on Thursday and another German boy is coming on Friday.
Well, I hope to hear soon from you. Kindest regards to your family.
Much love, Anneliese.
